The mission of the 9-11 Memorial at Williams Park is to establish a solemn memorial to reflect the historical importance of September 11, 2001 through education, emotions, and dedication to those heroes and victims who bravely gave all and continue to give all.

Brownsburg Firefighter Jim Miller obtained a steel beam from the World Trade Center for the sole purpose of exhibition in a memorial display. The artifact will serve as the centerpiece for the 9-11 Memorial. The vision for the memorial's design includes a walkway that will guide visitors through a pentagonal-shaped memorial garden. Story boards will be displayed on each of the five sides of the memorial, chronicling the accounts of the 9-11 terrorist attacks on America including the World Trade Center north and south towers, the Pentagon, Flight 93, and the scores of fire, police, military and civilian heroes. Visitors will be taken on an educational as well as emotional trail to remember the events of that fateful day and to unite as Americans in honor of its heroes and victims. The 9-11 Memorial, which will be located Williams Park, 940 S. Locust Lane, Brownsburg, Indiana, will serve as a place for remembrance, reflection and learning for years to come.
